Sexual abuse

This blog is about victims of sexual assault by people who have no conscience at all. People who are victims of sexual assault live a life of fear of their abuser. What is their fault ? Their fault is that they came to this world and were enjoying life or did trust someone. Society puts the fault on women . That women must have not been careful. But I want to know what is her crime. That she came to this world as a girl. How I wish we had a society wherein people would put the blame only on the abuser . How I wish we had a broad minded society. A society that only protects the rights of the victims . However might be the situation when the abuse had occurred, the society should put the blame on the abuser. Like the victim lives her life lowering her head in the crowd and walking, the abuser should be looked upon in the society in such a way.

                The abuser is free since the girl did not raise a complaint or has raised. He still can raise his head and walk in the crowd. But why can’t a girl do the same. This is unfair. This is where our most prestigious Indian culture lags behind. Did we ever think from this perspective. I think its time we start broadening our mentalities. But is it possible in Indian society? No it shall take a 100 years to change a bit of the society.

                I am asking can justice change the life of the victim. Can it bring her lost innocence back? No we are criminals who have snatched her innocence because of our narrow mindedness and our culture. We are shy so is our justice . Today its a news mob molested two girls on the road. But its just a news for us. We gossip about it and enjoy others pain. Such is the situation on the roads nowadays and all. We should be careful and take all preventive measures and all. But if we change our mentality towards the victims , we would be a healthier society. Society should care for the victims so that their innocence is not taken away. We should strictly take measures to comfort the victims and punish the abusers. Later we should not tell anything or gossip about the victims. Gossip on the abuser. Is this possible? Is it humane? I don’t think so. Still a part of my heart mourns for such a plight of humans.

                How I wish such a day comes when the victims will be able to live normal lives free of fear in the society.

                   Even when a man is abused during his childhood, his innocence gets lost. We should also have a mentality to comfort and guide him to the right path

                Some victims also fear to say that they have been assaulted. This side the abuser says that she is his girlfriend and continues abusing her. This also happens between husband and wife. We cannot do anything about these things. What can we do if the abuser tells me she is his girlfriend. So, we should have a shift in our mentalities towards sexual abuse. We should have strict laws for the abuser so that he would not be able to raise his head and walk in the society. Then only a united and healthy society shall carry a prestige which will have  a value.
